Silk card. Thick card with a smooth silky surface. Excellent for vivid colours and photos. Photos are not as glossy as on photo paper.
A glossy finish can be added to the front/outside of silk cards, making colours and photos really vibrant.
Matt card. Thick card, more textured, brighter white, with a matt look. Great for more formal occasions, simple elegant designs, and text based cards. Glossy finish cannot be added. This card is not recommended for photos.
